As you know, for a few days, the Beyonce's team made the show in Australia and New Zealand. Before, I talked to you about the interview which Hajiba answered for Melty (a french site). So, I tried to translate Hajiba's answers and I mostly hope you will understand ! ^^
Beyonce : Interview of Hajiba Fahmy, her french dancer.
First video : Hajiba tells us the rehearsals of the tour
- My name is Hajiba, I'm 25. I come from Valence, a town in the south of France, a nice town where I lived up to 15. I started dancing when I was 6 with introduction (to dance) and modern at 8 years old. Then, when I was 10, I started ballet, hip-hop and almost all dance styles. At 15 years old, I went to Paris and I did a Conservatory of Dance.
- So, how did I do to participate in the H&M add of this summer ? Indeed, I just auditioned. They said to me : "It's a private castig, we search 4 french dancers and there will be 2 american dancers. It's for an american artist but we can't tell you who she is. It's for a very famous clothing brand and the shooting will happen in the Bahamas." And it worked !
-So, I was in the plane to the Bahamas 3 days later. I learned the name of the artist at the last moment because it was really confidential : during 6 months, I shouldn't say anything. So, it was a suffering for myself. But it was amazing, really amazing ! (She thought to herself) "This is the chance of a lifetime, seize it, give the best of yourself. And if they like you, there will be perhaps something after."
-I knew I had to participate in "Robin des Bois" (A big french musical about the Robin Hood legend) before they call me for Beyonce. But I talked to them (the musical team) about that. I said I was going to New-York and it would probably be confirmed. They were very happy for me moreover.
-We rehearsed during 5 weeks in New York to set up the show and there was no really timetables. We arrived in the morning and left when it was completed or when they felt we were too tired and the work was no more productive. What is really hard ? Stay in high heels all day. I really learned to channel myself and not to show I was hurt.
- When we are in studio for example, we create, we show it to her and she gives her consent or not. But when we are on stage in rehearsals, really on stage, she is there all the time : it's her show ! She conducts all : from production to choreographies, choice of costumes, of lights... So, it's really her show !
- Our relationship with her is very human. She has a lot of respect for dance and dancers. She started with that too. There is a really sharing, it's not just she arrived, she goes on stage and goodbye. This team is as a family, she is like the mum and everyone is here, next to her.
Second video : How is Beyonce on the tour ?
-A typical day when we have a show at evening : we can arrive the day before or the day of the show in the city. If arrive the day of the show, we straight go to the hotel to put down our suitcases and then we have a "call time" at 3 or 4 p.m and we go to the place of the show.
- Then we get ready, warm up, make up, chat, laugh... it's really fun because we are a nice group of girls. We are very different but we share the same passion for dance. We are here for the same passion and the same wish.
-Then, the show lasts 2 hours and we often take the bus to go in an other city etc...
- A concert that made a deep impression on me ? I think it was in France of course ! Motpellier was moving for me because there was my mother, my family, my sister and my best friends in the concert hall. I was very proud to represent the "little frenchie" in the team. But Paris, it was also amazing... Paris was a really big show, it was at the beginning of the European tour and it was the first time we did "Grown woman". It was great !
- One of the best memory on the tour ? There are several good memories. Firstly, all connections with her on stage when we look at ourselves, we smile, it's a beautiful sharing ! After, all connections with other dancers, Les Twins, the musicians too and with the audience of course ! I hope we give them as much as they give us.
- I fell several times. Once in "Get me bodied" on my knees and once more at the end, I bent too and I fell on my butt. At the beginning I was sick but finally it makes everyone laugh and me first ! But I remember as it was a smile so they are good memories !
- One of my favorite choreography or song ? I'm really a fan of her before to have the opportunity to dance for her. So, I like the best seller "Single Ladies" of course, one of my favorite song. I enjoy "Grown Woman" because it's new and fresh and it's a nice homage to woman. I also like "Bow Down" a new song. And "Get me bodied" is fun because we share a lot of movements with other dancers, we dance in pairs.
- Officialy, we have dates until december but we are almost sure it will be continue.
- I'm "crazy in love" with justin Timberlake. I love him. I met him in Brooklyn after a concert. But I think I'm also "crazy in love" with Jay-Z, really.
- Who run the world ? Beyonce runs the world, of course !
